ALBERT NIENHAUS

MD, PhD, MPH

Head of the Department of Epidemiology and Health Service Research in Nursing (CVcare) at the University Clinics of Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE) since 2010 Head of the Department of Occupational Health of the Berufsgenossenschaft for the Health and Welfare Sector (BGW) since 2000 Field of Research: Occupational Health in Healthcare Workers Memberships: ICOH since 1995, German Society of Occupational and Environmental Health (DGAUM) since 2000 Publications: Up to September 2017 in total 190 publications in listed journals. Most publications concern studies on infection risks, leadership and workers health, violence against healthcare workers and ergonomics in healthcare.

Gwen Brachman

MD, MS, MPH, FACOEM

Dr. Brachman graduated from Boston University School of Medicine, completed a residency in Internal Medicine (Pacific Medical Center), a fellowship in Rheumatology (UMDNJ-Rutgers) and a residency in Occupational Medicine (UMDNJ-Rutgers). She was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and worked in the Occupational Medicine Service at UMDNJ-Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ for 20 years. She is currently retired but remains active in ACOEM (American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine) and ICOH (International Commission on Occupational Health) where she is the Chair of the Scientific Committee on Occupational Health for Health Workers.

ANTOON DE SCHRYVER

MD, PhD

MD Ghent University, and a PhD degree with doctoral thesis in Medical Sciences from Ghent University, Belgium Certified specialist in Occupational Medicine and in Epidemiology Professor Department Epidemiology and Social Medicine University of Antwerp since 2005 Occupational physician with IDEWE Occupational Health Services since 1997 Expertise and interests: Epidemiology, particularly occupational and infectious diseases epidemiology, Hepatitis B, vaccinations, Occupational Health Memberships: ICOH since 1993, Belgian Assocation of occupational physicians since 1995 Publications: In total 100 publications in listed journals. Most publications concern studies on epidemiology and infectious diseases in healthcare and non-health care workers.

SWEN MALTE JOHN

MD, PhD.

Full Professor and Chairman, Dept. of Dermatology, Environmental Medicine, Health Theory, (since 2004) University of Osnabrueck, Germany. Director of: Institute for Interdisciplinary Dermatological Prevention and Rehabilitation (iDerm) at the University of Osnabrueck Lower Saxonian Institute for Occupational Dermatology (NIB) Secretary of Scientific Committee for Occupational and Environmental Dermatoses.

Fouad M. Fouad

MD, Assistant Professor of Public Health Practice, American University of Beirut

Fouad is Assistant Professor of Public Health Practice at the Department of Epidemiology & Population Health, and a Co-Director of the Refugees Health Program at the Global Health Institute at the American University of Beirut (AUB). His current research interests focus on the forced displaced population with special interest on Syria refugee crisis including displacement inside Syria and the neighboring countries, as well as the impact of this crisis on their health and well-being. Fouad is a Principle Investigator and Co- Investigator of several projects on non-communicable diseases in protracted and armed conflict including cancer care and mental health in countries in crises. He is serving as a commissioner in two Lancet Commissions; AUB Lancet Commission on Syria and the crises in global governance, health and aid; and UCL Lancet Commission on Migration and Health

Johannes Gerding

Johannes Gerding, PhD

 

Dr. Gerding studied at the Universities of Hannover, Germany and Belo Horizonte, Brazil and graduated with a phD in food chemistry from the University of Münster, Germany in 2015. He is research associate at the „Berufsgenossenschaft for the health and welfare services (BGW)“, a branch of the German Social Accident Insurance. His work focuses on chemical harzards in healthcare settings (occupational toxicology) and exposure assesments (biomonitoring). Dr. Gerding is member of the German Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (DGPT).
